Saddle Rings

Random Tower Packing

A high-performance metal packing that blends the saddle and ring forms into a thin, high-void element for high capacity, low pressure drop, and excellent liquid spreading.

Overview

Saddle Rings are M10’s XT (Xtreme) Series high-performance metal random packing. Stamped and formed from thin sheet metal, the element marries the low-resistance, high-void character of a modern ring with the excellent liquid-spreading of a saddle. The rounded, scalloped form randomizes orientation, avoids nesting, and presents a large effective area at one of the highest void fractions available in a metal packing.

The result is high capacity and low pressure drop together with efficient mass transfer — the profile of a modern high-performance packing used to de-bottleneck and revamp columns for more throughput or more stages. The metal construction handles high temperatures and mechanical loads and is available in stainless and a full range of exotic alloys for aggressive service.

Key Features

  • Hybrid saddle/ring form for high capacity and high efficiency
  • Very high void fraction and low pressure drop
  • Scalloped shape randomizes orientation and avoids nesting
